The Strength That Comes From a New Home
A smart person once said “A house is made of walls and beams; A home is made of love and dreams.” John Ed had everything right when he said that, because he knew a principle that has lasted through the ages. This principle doesn’t change regardless who you are or where you live. Wherever home is, that place should always be a location you can go to find protection against the world’s storms. Living in a home is one of the basic rights declared by our forefathers; Americans have the right to have life, liberty, and to pursue happiness. Happiness, though, is what people don’t understand. Happiness doesn’t mean having 20 women every week, having all the money you could desire, and attending parties nightly. Although that might make you happy now, those things are short-lived. You are pleased now, but that joy will leave sooner than you think. “Long term” fulfillment, however, covers the happiness that a person feels when they are married, giving birth to a beautiful baby, and purchasing their first place of residence.Having a place to call home that you can come to in the evenings is not a matter of size, or the quick rush of endorphins over your excitement, it’s the joy, the peace you feel when you stroll across the threshold of your home and can take a deep breath. People think that because they come home to their families and problems at home that they can’t find happiness, but think of this: the world outside your home has one purpose: to mold you, work you, and deprive you of everything you have and are. Over the course of a few years it will slowly make you older, maybe richer, maybe poorer, and it will make your life pass faster than you can imagine. If there is nothing to get home to, nothing to battle the world for, then what use is life today? Home is the place where someone can go and feel as if they are protected, something that is steady in their world of quicksand.Homes in Utah give you added strength. It gives you the strength of having something under your name, that power is confidence and personal achievement. Something you can display with dignity because you have provided a roof for your family. It gives you the strength of stability. The one place that will always be waiting for you inviting you to close your tired eyes is your home. Finally it gives you the ability of compassion. Like John Ed said, “A house is nothing but wood and plaster, a home is a place where love and dreams are made”. It is the location where the people you love are, where your heart can discover solace from the stresses of this world, and where you can rest and put your feet up. In your home it doesn’t matter if you strip off the work uniform and put on a nice set of sweats. It doesn’t matter if you hook up a surround sound system so you can watch an action flick that maybe your friends don’t like. It doesn’t matter. The point is that new homes in Utah, are places of freedom, joy, and power for you and your loved ones. The idea is that no matter where you go or what you do, there always will be the desire to have a small spot of the world to call your own. Our forefathers said that each and every American has the right to pursue happiness, so pursue it! Make the investment of your life that will never shun you. Have something that you can have and be proud of for the years to come, something that will never turn its back on you and turn you away from its comfort. Never underestimate what a home can do for a person, and don’t assume that it’s a dream that will never come true. It is always available, and everyone deserves to have their own pair of keys, their own bed to say “It’s mine, and I’m home”.
